Education
Earning an MA in Asian Economic Political Development at Dominican
University (San Rafael, CA) in 1992 sent me to Wuxi, China to develop a
pricing plan for Chinese goods in Latin America. I also taught “How to Do
Business in Latin America” at the local graduate school. Both experiences
were incredibly wild fun and provided the opportunity to do what I do best:
help others build relationships and work across cultures.
Training
In 1997, I trained and later certified in Coaching at the world-renowned Coaches Training Institute. In 1999, I was selected as a leader and trainer for CTI, and also supervised students in the certification program. I taught courses across North America, Canada, and in a few penitentiaries and state prisons. I then became a Senior Lead Trainer. I have over 250 hours of training. Each experience expanded my understanding of humanity and my desire to support deepening relationships and jumping into a joyous way of doing business. I am also certified by the Coach Federation.
Innovation
Co-created Choice magazine. As an integral part of the coaching
community, I saw an opportunity to galvanize the industry. I was also
contributing writer for the highly read column, “The Soul of Coaching.”
In 1997 it all transformed
Judith Wilson walked into my office at Girls Inc. and said she wanted to coach our young women. (We became best girlfriends). I trained at Coaches Training Institute (CTI), and later became a senior lead trainer. At CTI I had the pleasure of leading coaching classes, supervising students in the certification program, training new leaders and teaching coaching in a couple of prisons (that was wild & deeply gratifying). Called to speak on human potential and consciousness, I began public speaking in 2004. Prior to coaching, I had a long career in youth development for nonprofit organizations. I received my MA in Asian Economic Development and Political Risk at Dominican University in San Rafael, CA in 1992.
